The Second Room was the first of two films that Cinematographer Lloyd Freidus shot for Director Bryan W. Simon, the second was the 2009 film I’m No Dummy.

The budget was too small too afford a rain machine, so several crewmembers squirted water from two garden hoses into the air to simulate the rain in Scenes 38, 39, 40.
Rimini Italian Restaurant, the location for the scene where Stanley “has lunch” with Moria, closed several months after the shoot when the owner was caught buying $18,000.00 worth of cocaine from undercover officers.
Short on extras, Producer Fred Kaplan drafted his parents, Vivienne and Hyman. They’re the older couple that gets on the bus with Moira.
Unable to afford a dolly to shoot the interior of Moria’s house, Cinematographer Lloyd Freidus held the camera while riding in a wheel chair that a dolly grip pulled.
One of the composers, Mo Jen of Strange Fruit, has gone on to compose for such films and TV shows as Strange Days (1995) and Easy as Pie (2002).
